Your Gluten Free Christmas Dinner

Started by Sommer , author of A Spicy Perspective — Easy Recipes and Spicy Conversation — 12/21/2011 8:00:10 AM

Many of you have been doing this a lot longer than I have. As I prepare my own gluten free holiday meal, I'd love to hear about your plans for a Gluten Free Christmas Dinner.

Feel free to share recipes if you have them!

Here's a helpful video clip to get the ball rolling.

I'm making dishes that are naturally gluten free like a pork roast, Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Dates, and a Quinoa with Pomegranate Arils and Goat Cheese

I'm also making gluten free candy bark and maybe my Sugar Free and Dairy Free Chocolate Mousse.

We make Chinese Hot Pot for Christmas Eve. It's like fondue with a big pot of broth in the center of the table, surrounded by plates of vegetables, chicken, seafood, and cellophane or Korean sweet potato noodles.

I'm making Chicken Tikka Masala and rice pudding

All awesome ideas! Hey Jeanette, I have a hot pot recipe on my site with rice noodles. I was going gluten free before I knew what is was. ;)

Thankfully, many hams (my fave Christmas meat) are gluten-free.

For a simple GF dessert (that is also fun for the kids to help make), try these 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies.  (When sprinkled with sea salt, they are even better!)

Cheese fondue's a great idea. You can dip pieces of Rudi's Gluten Free bread, apples, shrimp, and mushrooms. Plus kids LOVE fondue, and it's pretty simple to make.

Great ideas! Kimberly, I love peanut butter cookies like that. I make a version like that fairly often. Easy and delicious.

We're doing brunch, and are having ham, gluten and dairy-free scalloped potatoes http://www.thespunkycoconut.com/2009/08/grain-free-coffee-cake-gluten-free.html, a zucchini, sundried tomato frittata http://www.tastyeatsathome.com/2011/12/a-gluten-free-holiday-breakfast-and-brunch-zucchini-and-sun-dried-tomato-frittata/, fruit salad, sauerkraut with caraway http://www.bonappetit.com/recipes/2010/11/sauerkraut_with_gin_and_caraway, cinnamon rolls http://glutenfreehomemaker.com/2011/12/cinnamon-rollsgluten-dairy-free/, muffins my sister is bringing (I think they're cranberry-peach), smoked salmon on cucumber rounds topped with a mustard-dill sauce, and of course, there will be all sorts of coffee and treats.
